When we at MyTopFace hear about a start-up company that provides natural homemade skin care products. We go crazy, there’s nothing we love more than supporting a startup that promotes healthy skin. Better than nude was created by Victoria Rodriguez. She has been making her own skincare products for a long time. Once she started college she decided to take her homemade products public in order to help pay off student loans.
Better Than Nude mostly consists of face masks and scrubs. Our beauty experts chose our top three favorites. That we would love for our readers try out. At the top of the list are the face and body scrub Nubian Goddess. Rodriguez combined raw honey, Himalayan pink salt, raw cane sugar, peppermint oil and Eucalyptus oil. To create an amazing smelling scrub that benefits the oily and dry skin. Raw honey contains enzymes that produce antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties. That help clarify the skin and clear out clogged pores. Antimicrobial properties help prevent blemishes and heal acne scars. Honey is also a mild exfoliator, it lightly removes dead Skin cells. Helps rejuvenate the skin. Pink Himalayan salt is rich in calcium and magnesium, which improves the skin’s hydration. Salts are great mechanical exfoliators. Mechanical meaning to exfoliate the skin you need to physically rub the product against the skin. Cane sugar has the same purpose as the salt.
Soon as you open the jar you smell the soothing honey and stimulating peppermint/eucalyptus oils. Peppermint oil is a hybrid of spearmint and water mint. By just inhaling the peppermint aroma, you can clear your sinuses and respiratory tract. Eucalyptus oil is commonly used for first aid purposes. As an antibacterial, anti-infectious, and anti-inflammatory eucalyptus is a perfect addition to any skincare products.
Sweet Sunshine scrub is a mixture of pink Himalayan salt, brown sugar, lavender oil, spearmint oil, sweet orange oil, tea tree oil, grapefruit oil, coconut oil, and lime juice. Sweet Sunshine is second on our list and can be used on face and body. Since we already explained the benefits that pink salt and sugar supply, let’s skin right into the oils. Lavender oil is the most soothing scent a nose could smell. Our opinion of course. But lavender oil is used in everything, from baby skin care to aroma therapy. With antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties lavender oil is perfect for fighting acne. Also for healing minor burns, insect bites and great for treating eczema. Tea tree oil is another well-known oil, it’s so strong that it needs to be diluted before touching the skin. Tea tree is a very powerful antiseptic, and anti-fungal. Over the years people have used tea tree to make cleaning products, remove mold, and insect repellant. If you have dry skin this scrub is perfect because tea tree helps dry out the excess sebum (oil) the skin produces.
Sweet orange oil, when added to skin care helps with aging and loose skin. Grapefruit oil is a lymphatic stimulant, which triggers the skins detox system. Outdoor and indoor air pollution, and UV rays are consistently attacking the skin. Grapefruit oil helps boost the skins immunity to protect itself from those attackers.
Last, on our Better Than Nude must haves list, is Bitter Sweetheart. A face mask made of raw honey, cocoa powder, and cinnamon leaf oil. Cocoa powder comes from dried and roasted cocoa beans. People like to refer to cocoa powder as a skin saver. 40 times more antioxidants the berries cocoa powder helps fight against free radicals that are continually attacking the skin, leaving your skin rejuvenated and smooth. Cinnamon Leaf oil has numerous of health benefits like all the other oils I mentioned. But if you have sensitive or reactive skin this may cause some irritation. When added to a skin care product cinnamon leaf oil is diluted, therefore ok to use. But don’t ever apply directly to the skin.

So, you are missing out on all the benefits raw cocoa power has to offer. The cocoa powder smells just like that sweet chocolate you love. But the taste is a bit bitter than your use to. Cocoa powder is a superfood (a nutrient-rich food). It is said to lower blood pressure, decrease depression, and help boost your mood and energy. By just adding cocoa powder to your morning smoothies you will boost your overall health. If you’re not into smoothies, try adding a teaspoon of powder to your bottle of water with a teaspoon of raw honey. Within a few days, you will feel energized and healthy overall.
