– Nelly, How long does the lash extensions process take?

It is important to understand that during proper lash extensions application we cover each of your natural lashes with an extension, that’s about 200-300 little precise movements.

The timing of the procedure depends on the set the client chooses, as well as how full/long is the client’s natural lash line.

At ÓCHI we offer 4 options of sets:
– Beginner half set
– Classic full set
– Natural volume set
– Glam extra volume set

On average, a good quality set of lashes will take somewhere from 2-3 hours.

For those with limited time available, we offer an express set or beginner half set which can be done in about one hour.

– How long do lashes last?

The only reason why lash extensions do not last forever is that our natural lashes grow in cycles and there’s a process of shedding. On average a healthy person will loose up to 5 lashes per day. Some people find this shocking, yet this is the way our body works.
Therefore the life of your new beautiful lashes depends on how fast do your lash hairs grow. Based on working with our clients I always say that you should expect your lashes to last somewhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

– Is there something you should or shouldn’t do before or after the application?

It is recommended but not required to come into your appointment with no eye makeup. Also, we suggest being mindful of caffeine/drug consumption on the day of your appointment to make sure you can relax during your appointment.

– Who is not a candidate for the lash application?

Those with hair loss problems or any skin problems that affect eyelids. Those who had an eye/eyelid surgery less than two months ago. Clients with an active allergy to cyanoacrylates (the main ingredient in professional lash extensions adhesive)

For clients with any questions or concerns or those prone to the allergic reaction we do offer free allergy tests (must be done at least 24 hrs prior to the initial procedure) as well as free online and offline consultations.

– Can mascara can be applied on lash extensions?

It is not recommended to use mascara on extensions, especially volume set, because it will make them “clumpy”. The good news is that you won’t need to. 😉

– How often lashes require to touch up?

At ÓCHI we have 2 categories of clients:
Those who choose to come in every 6-8 weeks for a new set. Therefore touch-up is not required. At the beginning of the appointment, we will safely remove the leftovers from the previous time and apply a fresh set of beautiful lashes.

Those who need to look their best 24/7. For those clients, we recommend coming in for a touch-up every 2-4 weeks. At ÓCHI we understand that everybody’s hair growth speed is different, so we won’t charge you more if you came in at 4 weeks, not 2. We only require you to have at least 50% of false lashes left for it to be considered a touch-up.

– How should you care for lash extensions after the appointment?

After the procedure, we will always go through the aftercare and first of all, we always ask our clients to forget everything that they have heard about lash extensions before coming to us. Especially those horror stories about not washing your eyes for weeks or being afraid to touch them.

As for aftercare, we recommend do not get your eyes wet for the first 3 hours after the procedure. After that please DO wash your eyes and lashes with water and cleanser every day. Especially if you use eye makeup (eyeliner/eyeshadows etc). Oil-free foaming face cleanser will work the best. Avoid oils and oily products on your lash line.

– How to remove lashes if you want to?

For our clients who want to remove lashes after some time when there are only a few lashes left we offer free professional lash removal service which takes about 15 minutes.

– Can the client go swimming or go to a spa with lash extensions?

Absolutely! Enjoy your daily activities while looking your best. As long as you follow general aftercare rules, you should be fine. The only thing to watch out for is extremely high temperatures (super hot saunas/streaming rooms).

It is hard to say as both procedures cover different needs and can be replaced by each other at different times.
