– Marina, how did you decide to open The Beautie Bar and why?

I decided to open The Beautie Bar in URBY in Staten Island, a location/area with many residents and no salons for women to go and get services done. It is a place women can come to feel beautiful, relax and unwind after a long day, or any day for that matter. We offer hair services (such as haircuts, blowouts, proaddiction treatment), lash extensions, makeup applications, laser hair removal, facials, and lymphatic drainage massages. The area the salon is located in is the up and coming downtown area of Staten Island (you can compare to Williamsburg) I am personally a beauty enthusiast, I love trying all new beauty-related treatments that benefit the skin and want to extend that to all my clients

– What’s your beauty am/pm routine?

Am routine: Cleanse my skin with Kate Sommerville goat milk cleanser or Amore Pacific treatment cleanser (depending, if I have any breakouts at the time) I moisturize my face and then use cold rose quartz face roller for a minute or so. After that, I proceed with my usual makeup routine.

Pm: Wash off and remove all makeup and then apply an anti-aging serum & moisturizer (currently using Biolab France 24kt gold elite) -we sell it and use the professional line for our facial treatments in the salon

– What are your favorite skincare brands/products and why?

I try many skincare brands and products. Currently, my favorite is both Amore Pacific & Biolab France. They leave my skin fresh, moisturized and hydrated all day/night. I see a difference in the fine lines around my eyes (but as with all products being consistent with use is key)

– MyTopFace expert tested OxyGeneo facial, how does it oxygenate skin?

The Oxygeneo facial is a 3 step system. Firstly a proprietary serum/gel is placed on the skin, it is followed by an exfoliation treatment that when combined with the serum creates an oxygen effect going deep into your pores. Step 2 involves massaging the skin with RF and infrared light to reduce any redness. It both tones and lifts the skin/facial muscles. Lastly step 3 is an ultrasound that helps penetrate the serum further into the skin for an all-over glow. Each step is about 10 minutes

– How does OxyGeneo compare to Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion only exfoliates the top layer of skin. The Oxygeneo not only exfoliates, but it also infuses skin with the serum’s antioxidants & nutrients (creating an oxygen effect into the pores), reduces pores, tightens and lifts the skin and reduces fine lines over time with treatment

– What should clients expect to see and feel after the OxyGeneo treatment?

After treatment, the client leaves with smooth soft glowing skin. They may notice that their pores have been minimized and skin is hydrated

– How frequently can women/men have OxyGeneo treatment?

Treatment can be done every 4 weeks. For best results, a series of 6 treatments are needed and should be done every 4 weeks

– What are the active beneficial ingredients in the nutrient-rich gels?

The Nutrient gels vary but ingredients include vitamins, antioxidants, peptides (essentially everything beneficial to your skin)

– How fast is the result of OxyGeneo treatment? Can it be done before an event?

Most clients see results immediately, results only get better as the week goes on. It can certainly be done before any event as there is absolutely no downtime

– MyTopFace expert tested Lumenis Splendor X Laser for her underarm hair removal, how is it different from other lasers and how many sessions are typically needed?

The Lumenis Splendor X is the newest laser hair removal machine on the market, it uses both Yag & Alexandrite wavelengths. There’s an option to use them separately or blend the waves together for a stronger and faster effect. It is also safe to use on almost all skin tones. On average the client will need 6 sessions to be hair-free. Keep in mind every client is different, some may need fewer sessions and some may need more.

MyTopFace expert has skincare addiction and tested many services, however, she was shocked by how good and fast her skin improved after a week of the treatment.
