L’Appartement is a Paris in the heart of New York City. L’Appartement is a French chic hair salon, located on 57th street between 5th and Madison Avenue, two blocks away from Central Park.
The Hair Bodouir specializing in hairstyling, coloring, treatments, restoration, extensions, as well as makeup services, and nails. L’Appartement was founded by Tiffany Kajic, a native of Cannes in the French Riviera, who had two hair boutiques in Cannes famous among French celebrities and models.
Tiffany is a hair expert who trained at the best beauty schools and high-end salons such as Jaques Dessange, Vidal Sassoon, and Alexandre Zouari. Before opening L’Appartement Tiffany worked with Frederic Fekkai and was a key player on Fashion Week.
We’re in love with France and wanted to experience a little bit of Paris in New York for ourselves! Our expert made an appointment for the hair coloring with Yann.

Yann is a French hair expert who has years of experience and worked around the world from China to the US. The expert came for Yann’s professional advice on the hairstyling and coloring, while Yann performed the service we did a little interview:
– Yann, how did your journey in the beauty industry start?
I started when I was 14 years old in my uncle’s hair salon in the south of France. Hair is a family affair!
– Where did you work before?
I work in China, London and of course, the beautiful Paris
– How did you end up in the US?
I always dreamt to have people from all over the world in my chair. At that time my agent in China convinced me New York would be the place to be!
– What services do you specialize in?
Makeover! I love doing a full transformation. Going to extensions, color cut, and style.
– Can you please tell us a step-by-step process and what products were used for MyTopFace experts’ hair coloring?
I used my favorite product Blondme by Schwarzkopf to lift experts’ hair to a pale yellow without breakage. Starting mid-length to end to remove the color from the previous coloring then went to the roots. Then followed by applying my favorite pink by Manic Panic…And voila!
– How to maintain bright-neon color like longer and when should one come fro re-touching?
Bright colorful color is generally better to avoid washing it too often. I recommend for the 2 first weeks after the service just rinse with cool water and wash with a bonding conditioner.
Retouch in about 6/7 weeks depending on how hair grows.

– What are your personal hair-care beauty hacks?
Add collagen powder in your coffee or tea every morning – it will help your hair growth and is amazing for hair regeneration since it is a natural antioxidant.
The expert reported: -‘I didn’t cut my hair for over three months, so my first question to Yann was whether it should be ‘shaped’ – Yann suggested we leave the full length for the bright color. I decided to go with Yann’s advice and I am happy with the results!
Yann is a professional hairstylist, by the way that he works, you can see he knows what he’s doing. The first steps that Yann did were to check my hair and make necessary preparations such as the right products to fit me.
Not sure what magic did Yann mixed up in his coloring cauldron, but the bleaching process was pretty fast, without itching and unpleasant feelings, and took about 2 hours less than usual!
